Film: Doco-Lab May

Shark Island Foundation, through the AIDC Feature Docs Pitch 2026, has supported four extraordinary documentary films with a development grant of $25,000 each. But the support doesn’t stop there.

As part of the grant, each filmmaker has also been awarded time and space at Shark Island Kangaroo Valley — a four-day creative residency working with acclaimed Story Consultant and filmmaker Joseph Nizeti. It’s a rare opportunity to develop their films in an immersive, dedicated creative environment, with deep dramaturgical support at a critical stage of development.
