With a long career in digital production, art, and graphic design, he has built a reputation as an award-winning art director, website developer and stage designer. Rhys has guided the development of Shark Island’s digital strategy and created impactful digital experiences, notably designing and developing the website for THE POOL, one of our flagship projects.
His work has been recognised with the success and awards for education and community outreach of Shark Island websites such as PAUL KELLY — STORIES OF ME, THE POOL and the nationally significant film THE FINAL QUARTER. Before joining Shark Island Institute, Rhys was the director of a digital design company, working with small to medium enterprises and independent arts organisations. He has also volunteered for Children’s Rights International, focusing on improving the youth justice system in Southeast Asia. Rhys holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communications and Design from Victoria University, Wellington.
