Good Pitch Australia

Good Pitch brings together filmmakers with NGOs, foundations, philanthropists, social entrepreneurs, potential corporate and brand partners, broadcasters and media with leading social issues – to forge powerful alliances around ground breaking films that are good for these partners, good for the films and good for society. Shark Island Institute together with Documentary Australia Foundation hosted GOOD PITCH AUSTRALIA over three years from 2014–2016. The trilogy of events was held at the Sydney Opera House with the support of community partners Philanthropy Australia and Pro Bono Australia.

Over $16 million was raised in philanthropic grants to fund the selected 19 social impact documentaries and their impact campaigns, forging priceless pro bono support and over 300 powerful strategic partnerships between community groups, the corporate sector, NGOs and policy makers.

Good Pitch is a partnership between BRITDOC and Sundance Documentary Film program and made possible through the generous support of the Ford Foundation.

After 6 big years, Shark Island Institute has formally closed its involvement with Good Pitch Australia. We thank you all for your incredible support over this time.
